The capacity of silica sand drying system from Sunco Machinery varies from 3 tons per hour to 100 tons per, and it can be customized as your actual need. 


Silica Sand Drying System includes silica sand dryer, buffer hopper, input belt conveyor, output belt conveyor, cyclone dust separator, air pipe, draft fan, chimney, bag filter, electric control panel, etc.

 Work flow of silica sand drying system:

◆ Burner and hot air furnace supply the high temperature air for the silica sand drying system.

◆ Tractor shovel put wet silica sand into mechanical feeding hopper, and wet silica sand falls on input belt conveyor.

◆ Input belt conveyor transport the wet silica sand into the cylinder of silica sand dryer machine.

◆ On the inner wall of the cilinder/drum, there are many lifting plates which is welded according to one special angles and layout. When the Silica Sand Dryer's cylinder is rotating, these lifting plates makes the silica sand up and down to mix with the hot air sufficiently. During this process, the water in the silica sand is evaporated into water vapor.

◆ On the end of the silica sand dryer machine, there is one high pressure draught fan which sucks out the water vapor, and then the water vapor goes into the cyclone dust separator.

◆ In the cyclone dust separator, the dust inside the exhaust air and water vapor falls down and goes out through the discharging hole of the cyclone dust separator. The exhaust air and water vapor goes into atmosphere directly through the chimney which is connected to the cyclone dust separator.

◆ If the customer has higher dust removal requirements, they can choose to use bag filter Sunco Machinery Water Dedusting Tower System.


Silica Sand Dryer is ideal suitable for drying the silica sand with high heat efficiency. As the moisture of silica sand is surface water, in order to increase the heat efficiency, we need to increase the contact area between the hot air and silica sand inside the silica sand dryer machine as much as possible by the reasonable inner structure design of the rotary drum.
